Myoko Kogen is one of Japan`s oldest ski areas and made up of three separate resorts – Myoko Akakura, Myoko Suginohara and Ikenotaira Onsen – and is renowed for some of the best vertical and longest runs Japan has to offer. The first of these, Akakura, was founded in the 1930s, making it one of the oldest established ski areas in the world.. Myōkō Kōgen is also well known for its many local onsen (hot springs)
